It marked the 13th anniversary of the legendary Quran reciter’s demise, according to Al-Watan news website.
Head of the Quran Radio Ridha Abdul Salam had said earlier that the Radio will make efforts to honor the memory of Sheikh Shuaisha.
On Sunday, Shuaisha’s recitations were broadcast on the radio and his achievements and different stages of his life were reviewed by experts.
Some of the recitations were aired by the Quran Radio for the first time.
Born in 1922 in Bella, Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, Shuaisha was the only qari of his time to recite the Quran using the style of Muhammad Rifat.
He committed the entire Quran to his memory at seven and started reciting the Quran on the radio at the age of 17. He was the youngest qari on the radio at the time.
He passed away on June 23, 2011, at the age of 88.
